    I've been sick and need to take amoxicillin but minocin prevents it from working and i dont want to stop taking my oral ap. my question is instead of the mino is zithromax used when amoxicillin is needed for a few days? i think i read that but wanted to confirm it. thanks guys =)

    Eggs, deciding between zith and amoxicillin might depend on what you're treating. Check out these wikipedia articles on these two antibiotics:

    You're right that azithromycin (a macrolide) can be taken with mino, but amoxicillin shouldn't be taken simultaneously with the tetracyclines:

    Very interesting! My AP doc has specifically told me to take the mino and amoxicillin trihydrate (amoxil duo) together, at the same time of day. Lynnie

    Mino 2003-2008 100mg MWF - can no longer tolerate any tetracyclines
    rotating abx protocol now. From Sep 2018 MWF - a.m. Augmentin Duo 440mg + 150mg Biaxsig (roxithromycin). p.m. Cefaclor (375mg) + Klacid 125mg + LDN 3mg + Annual Clindy IV's
    Diet: no gluten, dairy, sulphites, low salicylates
    Supps: 600mg N-AC BID, 1000mg Vit C, P5P 40mg, zinc picolinate 60mg, Lithium orotate 20mg, Magnesium Oil, Bio-identical hormones (DHEA + Prog + Estrog)
