    Any one got any thoughts on ways in which the vascular damage of SD may be repaired.  I have seen refererence the cocoa flavanols are helpful and that gingko may also be a good supplement to promote peripheral blood flow.

    Also – would immersing your hands in hot water (not scalding – but painful) damage or help vascular tissue and might it promote/deter mycoplasma infection??  Is mycoplamsa heat sensitive is probably the question I am asking here.

    Hi

    Havent heard of hot water being useful for Raynauds —calcium channel blockers are used –viagra is used and a nitro paste that is rubbed on has been of help to some people –One of the mysteries of treating Raynauds is how to revitalize damaged small blood vessels –in Raynauds they do not revitalize however improved circulation keep othe vessels healthy –personally I found the addition of a calcium channel blocker brought a 90 % improvement in my Raynauds –

    Hi Brendan;
        Richi is correct.I guess I am just lucky not to need a vasodilator as I only have a Raynaud's event.I can put my hands in cold water all day long but if overtired and I get a chill on my back my hands to get whiteish.I am a scientist,not in this field,but do read up on all the latest info going around.There is no way to increase the number of mico vessels .The only way to get more O2 to the tissue is EXERCISE

    Hi Lynne and Richie

    I agree that new vessels will not develop,  however believe that there is capacity to repair vessels that are injured and not rendered lifeless by fibrosis and to stop/slow additional damage.

    Interesting – I have gone cold turkey on the coffee for the last three days and guess what – hands are not turning blue and actually feeling warm – should know better!

    Cheers

    Brendan,

    The infrared sauna has made an unbelievable difference in circulation for me.  Raynaud's almost totally gone.

    Hi Brendan, I don't have bad Raynauds but the circulation is poor in my hands and feet. The infrared sauna has really helped that immensely. I no longer sleep with socks on. My rheumatologist also recommended ginko to help improve the circulation.
