Is there a list somewhere of teh tests I should have?  I am looking for bacteria or viruses to be tested for?

    Thanks

    Hi Froggy,

You might find Appendix A & B under the Historical Protocol section of Physician's Protocol pages under the Education tab on the RBF website interesting:

    https://www.roadback.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=studies.display&display_id=184#Anchor-Appendix-363

It lists various types of mycoplasma and the antibiotics to which they are susceptible. However, to unravel the mysteries of “what myco to test for,” it's good to get the opinion of a really experienced AP doc, like Dr S, in Ida Grove, Iowa. He does phone consults, so if you're interested in contacting him, you can get details from Diane at apdoctors@roadback.org

It might also interest you to know that not everyone who gets on AP has mycoplasma testing done. In some cases, it's done to assist with getting insurance coverage for an infection. However, many of us just assume we have a pathogen load of many types and just go from there.

    Peace, Maz
