    Since the RA, that is the only thing that works for me too.  Lotion doesn't touch the dryness and my skin hurts later from rubbing it on.

    I have been experiencing extremely dry skin and tightening in my legs. If I scraped the skin I think I could scrap it away.  I have tried all kinds of moisturizers, etc. to no avail.  So, I tried Bag Balm, Vermont's Original, Since 1899, purchased at my local drug store OTC, which has really helped.  The bad side is that I have to sit on a towel, because Bag Balm is almost as greasy as Vaseline.  By evening it has pretty well soaked in the skin. This is used in dairies on cow's udders, which does help in understanding why and what it is used for.  I do not think it is toxic.   Just a thought.   Nancy
