Hi all – I've mentioned that I'm going to see a new AP doc in April who also works with the gut to get it working FOR you again vs against you.  One thing I am currently having to do prior to my appt  is go on a salicylate reduction diet which will be folowed by an elimination diet for 4-6 weeks.  I had never heard of them, so did some research and turned up some fascinating stuff. I had no idea how bombarded we are with them and how they have been shown to be a trigger for ADHD, autism and arthritis. So, for those who are interested, here are a few links to info on food intolerances and, in particular, on salicylates.

    Hi Lynnie,

Acetylsalacylic acid, or aspirin, is also a common trigger for asthma, another inflammatory disease.  Another coincidence?

That website is great! I love the Nasty Food Awards page.:P

I'll stick to the big old brown potato and peel it from now on. 😉

Thanks for that, it's really informative and relevant!!

You will see in the material that aspirin is mentioned….its primary ingredient is salicylate
