Hello everyone,
Sending out an S.O.S. here…
I'm seeking help for a member who has not actually posted on these boards but has personally contacted me about her mother. Her mom has suffered kidney failure and is in a hospital now in Auburn, AL. She is being transferred to Birmingham, Alabama to UAB hospital tomorrow to see a scleroderma specialist.
Do any of you know of a doctor that might be able to help this precious woman??
Thank you in advance!
Blessings,

I didn't want you to think that no one cared to respond to your post. Your friend's mother is in a difficult position. It can be hard enough to start a new protocol that is generally not accepted but being in a hospital puts a whole new spin on it. You are oftentimes at the mercy of the doctors in the hospital. So, the patient has to be completely confident that AP is what they want to do and then they have to basically tell the doctor that since they have run out of options and basically time that they want to try the minocycline and that's final. I'm not hopeful that the scleroderma specialist will want to coordinate with Dr. S but they can always ask.

Dr. S. fits the bill and would highly recommend she start by emailing or calling him for his advice. If this lady has an open GP, Dr. S would consult with him to get her going on home IVs and orals.
So sorry to hear of this lady's condition and do hope she can get fixed up and started on AP asap.
Peace, Maz

It is gut wrenching but, I have total hope for this lady! My very own mom was in her shoes just a year and 3 months ago…Look at her now!The moral of this story…your story counts! It is important! It is helping others! You never know who you might touch or connect with! We never know who's reading what we write. Thank goodness for this board!
I did get an email from my friend and wanted to post it for you guys to see. Please keep praying for their precious mom!
“Thanks so much for posting and getting all the info. We have not had a good experience here. It has been awful. We have taken your info and begun to make phone calls. Hoping we will hear back from someone soon. My sister here with me now and I am showing her the site and all the posts to get her involved also. Will keep you posted! Thanks again!“July 8, 2010 at 2:17 am #348784KimParticipantMichelle,
We can all appreciate how overwhelmed and busy this woman is with her very ill mother. I hope she knows she can rely on you to ask any questions of us and not have to take time away from her mom. Thanks for helping, you just never know. 😕
Sending positive, healing thoughts their way.
Take care…..kim
