Please let me know if Plaquenil is still being prescribed as one of the main drugs for RA in the USA. I have realised that my famous rheumatologist /ex/ never mentioned to me this medication. It is mentioned on the website Arthritis Australia and it is written that it helps 60% of RA patients. It is very strange. He experimented on me so many drugs, even new ones for over 20 years. Why not that one? He knew that I had spent a long time in a country where the parasitic diseases were common like malaria. So why not hydroxychloroquine??

RA tried everything: Methotraxate, Arava, Humira. Pneumonia three times. Anemia. Very low iron. Hypothyroidism
AP from April 2014 till August 2015. No luck.
Current medications: Natural thyroid, Mobic, supplements,
    vitamins and minerals.

Sorry for not replying sooner (I meant to, but then forgot). It is definitely still being prescribed here. And I am fairly certain that there are members of this forum who are taking it.

“From 24 March 2020 new federal legislation is in place to limit the availability of hydroxychloquine. From 24 March 2020 treatment with hydroxyclorquininevwill need to be authorised first by certain specialists before ongoing prescribing by a general practitioner can occur”
Can you believe it? This happens in Australia of course. I wonder who these specialists are and what for.

    Hi Maz,

It’s very interesting that in 7 decades of hydroxychloroquine use, not one cardiology society has weighed in on the cardiac dangers of this med! It’s safety track record as one of the safest DMARDs for use in RA and lupus is pretty exemplary.

It’s quite clear to me that there is a deliberate campaign of deception being waged against this drug. Some doctors who have spoken publicly about hydroxychloroquine have had their videos deleted from Facebook and YouTube, and probably other social media sites as well. And some of them have been contacted by reporters and were basically told to shut up (“stay in your own lane” is the wording often used).

Here is a documented example of censorship by YouTube:

And here is a link to the video that was deleted (and later restored):

Thanks, Phil – interesting, but not surprising. 🙄

Hydroxychloroquine is mentioned briefly during this interview:

Perspectives on the Pandemic | The (Undercover) Epicenter Nurse | Episode Nine

Although it’s a long interview (71 minutes), it’s well worth watching because of what it exposes.

The Australian Professors have announced that there is an easy treatment for covid: Ivermectin, Doxycycline and zinc together. You can listen to Prof. Thomas Borody on YouTube.
