Just saw this info on the MP site.  Thought I would send along.  Dr. Marshall posted this information on 9/29.

Oprah is showing an interest in chronic Lyme.
We all know that Lyme is just part of the infective picture but that has been, and still is, a hard sell to a Medical community that was brought up on the Postulates of Koch (one pathogen gives one disease).

Dr Oz is showing an interest in the Lyme-oriented documentary “Under Our skin” and has created a page for people who suffer from Lyme to write to him.

Please write to Dr Oz ASAP
IMO it is critical that you keep your writing SHORT. Very SHORT (<100words).

I think you should just say you had Lyme for X years, you tried X treatments, and then you found one that worked, found a Doctor to treat you, and you are now recovering/recovered.

Then just give a link to Cpt Tom Perez's transcript from Porto
    http://AutoimmunityResearch.org/transcripts/ICA2008_Transcript_TomPerez.pdf

The more you write, the less likely anybody will read it:):)

The special page Mehmet Oz created for you to leave your letters is at URL:

Dr. Oz's interest in Lyme has been well publicized on the Lyme Yahoo Group that I read.  It is amazing to me how many of “us” are turning up with a Lyme and Company (co infection) type infection.

I spoke to a woman in Texas this morning.  She contacted RBF for the listing of AP doctors a month or so ago.  Her renowned Rheumy told her that without question, RA has nothing to do with an infectious trigger!  She had the good sense to travel to see Dr. K in Lufkin, who did the tests, and guess what, Babesia.  We are seeing so many of us here with rheumatic illness symptoms testing positive for Lyme & Co, how can these rheumies be so absolutely certain that infection does not play a role.  They admit that they don't know what does cause it, but they are 100% certain that it is not infection, their tunnel visioned arrogance BAFFLES ME!

Hopefully some Lyme patients and good experienced LLMDs will be able to connect with this potential Oprah effort.  Any attention for the infectious relationships in chronic illness will be a step in the right direction.
