DH has lyme coinfections (ie: babesia) and has experienced significant loss of muscle mass from depleted testosterone. He looks like he could blow away in the wind he's so thin. He's always been thin, but the loss of muscle mass makes him startlingly thin.

Assistant to Doc wants to use Chinese herbs to assist his testosterone levels, but the lead Doc wants to use biodentical hormones. They told us to research our options.

If anyone has personal experience or can suggest good references we'd appreciate it!

Assistant Doc thinks once the lyme coinfections are knocked back his natural hormone levels will return. Hope so!

Thanks for any bits of wisdom as we consider options.

The doctor told a friend of mine that his testosterone was extremely low. He did not believe any oral testosterone supplements due to poor absorption. He told him to get bioidential testosterone shot every week. This guy tried Chinese herbal medicine for a year, it simply did not work. His doctor never believed it so he tested his testosterone level before and after. It got worse (lower). He was on shots for a year and his testosterone level went up (not to the normal range yet). So based on my friend's experience, the best solution for him was the shots.
