Lyme case on Mystery ER

I watched Mystery ER tonight and saw how Brooke Landau was finally diagnosed with Lyme after many, many tests and procedures and countless visits with specialists. I thought about Maz and decided to visit this site tonight.
I am curious about the hyperbaric chamber and if it really makes such a difference. I wonder if this is part of any treatment protocol? She said this was done to oxygenate her entire body so that the antibiotic can penetrate the tissues thoroughly.
Did anyone see this episode tonight? any thoughts?

Mom, thanks for thinking of me and dropping by! I heard about the Brooke Landau episode of Mystery Dx, but they kept rescheduling it and putting it back, so I gave up looking. They do so many re-runs. Thanks for letting us know it was finally run…maybe they will start doing re-runs now! :roll-laugh:

I've heard of Lyme patients doing hyperbaric oxygen, but the herxing can be pretty hard. I spoke with one Mom when I went to the “Cure Unknown” book signing and her son did one session and had to stop them. So, it seems to work for Lyme, but maybe the timing in the chamber needs to be adjusted slowly to keep the herxing more tolerable?

I think Cheryl might be able to tell you more about this as she has researched it.
