Started the full protocol on the 19th. Have done fine except my arms are itching pretty bad. In the 20 years of having this disease I have never had the itching people have talked about. The itching is better on some days than others and it is mostly my lower arms. My skin tightening from sclero is mostly limited to my hands and face. I know youall aren't Dr.s…but, the itching isn't bad enough that I can't deal with it and I didn't know if it would be considered herxing OR if I should lay off ap for a week and then go back to my pulse dosage. The only other negative I have had is bouts with severe leg pain and inflamation. It's so confusing. Lynn

I had posted about itching a while back. I thought that the NAC I was giving my mom could possibly be the culprit, but it wasn't. We believe that the itching is the AP working. See this thread below. Lots of good information that may give you some food for thought!http://www.rbfbb.org/view_topic.php?id=3193&forum_id=1&highlight=nac

I still have itchie spots now and again. I would take some benedril before bed and that would help. My itching after begining AP was not nearly as bad as my SD itching before mino.

Am wondering if you consume any Essential Fatty Acids? If not I strongly recommend you do some reading about them, as these are essential and the body cannot manufacture them.
I've known for a long time that consuming flaxseed oil made my skin much more supple/soft. I wasn't aware of all its benefits until I had been on it for some time. If you have time to read this article, you can learn how it can repair cells:
http://www.arthritistrust.org/articlescurrent.htm … then click on the article, “Essential Fatty Acids Are Essential.” (On page 3 of this article, it even tells about German scientist Dr. Johanna Budwig getting terminal cancer patients well using the regimen she came up with — the combination of flaxseed oil and a sulphurated protein allowed the protein to become a “carrier” and got the EFA's from the flaxseed into the body's cells and repair them.
I've known about the link above for a number of years. Just did a search using the words “flaxseed oil and itching” and the following topical help for itching.
Read about “How to Stop Itching Fast”:
(go down to the one about itching and flaxseed oil)
[/size]
Both just may do a lot of good.
