Has anyone tried green-lipped mussels for RA? Lots of places seem to recommend it.

I haven't heard of anything … but I like the name “green lipped mussles”.   Where I'm from on L.I. we would go get “pi.s.s clams” in the summer for clam bakes.  The names are amusing.:)

Yes–there's evidence that they are helpful in reducing inflammation. I've eaten them at a local Asian buffet and find them delicious.

Jaydee, Dr Sherry Rogers in one of her books recommends an extract of green-lipped mussel, called Lyprinol, claiming it dramatically outperforms ibuprofen as well as omega 3 supplements . It modulates the abnormal cell membrane chemistry of pain and inflammation. I haven't tried it, but may soon, because I've been taking alot of Aleve lately! All the best.

I use greenlipped mussel supplements. Infact the real things are tasty with a white wine and garlic sauce. Native to New Zealand I believe 😀
