    Does Flagyl have to be taken on an empty stomach? I have been taking it with my mino. dose but wondered if I should be taking it with food. I am doing the same with zithromax. Does that also have be taken on an empty stomach? The reason I am asking is because I am adding a new antibiotic. The Dr. said to take this new antibiotic with food. It never occurred to me that the Flagyl and Zithro might have to be taken with food as well. Of course I didn't think of it until after my appt.

    I am taking 600mg zithromax with food, otherwise it gnaws at my stomach.  Haven't started flagyl yet, but it is my understanding that it too can be taken with or without food.  I take minocin on an empty stomach.
