Yesterday morning I went to see my eye doctor because I have been seeing some small patches of something with my right eye. After examining my eyes, he told me that I have Atypical Retinal Hemorrhage. So those patches are blood! Tomorrow I am scheduled to see yet a more specialized specialist. Has anyone experienced something similar? Scleroderma or lupus patients, did something like that happened to you. I am getting nervous.

I don't have lupus/scleroderma, but I have had a detached retina. That it where the retina separates from the back of the eye. It starts with bleeding.

I know this is also a concern for diabetics. Make sure they keep a close watch on your eye. It really depends on the amount of bleeding whether they just watch it.

I'm sure someone with lupus or scleroderma can give you more specific info.

Thanks Nancy for your prayer, and thanks Eann for your info. I guess no lupus/scleroderma patients have that problem.

Make sure your primary physician tries to find the cause of this. For example, I know diabetes can affect the eyes very adversely.

Thanks, superperro. I just went to see another eye specialist. I told him that I have Lupus and may be scleroderma. He then suspected that I have vasculitis, and ordered a long list of blood tests for me. I did some research on the internet about vasculitis, and that scared me a lot. I have been on AP for 3.75 years. It has kept me in good shape for those years. How come all of a sudden, it seems to get worse now?
