Froggy – if your gut is compromised, it's probably better to stay away from ibuprofen (which Advil is). My AP doc recommends staying away from any salicylate-based drugs when gut is an issue – and that includes aspirin, which is pure salicylate. She recommends paracetemol or diclofenac (Voltaren/Voltarol are two brand names). Lynnie

What did you take for inflamation? I have pain, but my sed rate and cardio crp are within normal ranges. I take one or two advils per day, but I would like to get away from them as my intestines are sensative and could really do without the added aggrevation.
Hi Froggy,
When I was herxing and really suffering from a lot of inflammation, I did what I could to detox, eat as healthy as possible and paid attention to my pH levels. A Friend has posted much about this whole topic, which you can find easily by typing in “pH” and “detoxing” in the search box. I found that when I kept my pH more in the normal range, pain levels were less. I also found that proteolytic digestive enzymes, such as serrapeptase and nattokinase, were helpful.
Something I wished I'd looked into, but never asked my doc about was adrenal insufficiency…but one may not know about unless tested. Many of us seem to suffer from poor adrenal function, but there are natural ways to counteract this, too, to help relieve inflammation, but not a good idea to supplement with DHEA or other supps for adrenals without a physician's go-ahead. I plan on doing a lot more research into this area.
Peace, Maz

When my gut wwas really a mess I had adrenal problems. I take DHEA and now my numbers are where they should be again.
