I had polymyositis a few years ago, by taking high dose prenisone and methotrexate it disappeared.  I have been taking minocin for close to 3 years and in April of this year Iv clyindamycin monthly has been added to try to fight the scleroderma. Ever since I have started the IVs my muscles are weakening. I cant walk much farther then 30 feet before needing to sit down.  Do you think the Ivs could have set the polymyositis off again?

Just wanted to get some thoughts about this. My lungs are also getting worse. One good thing my hemoglobin is rising and the watermelon stomach is  getting better.

    Thankyou for your support Kathy

    Kathy,

Have you had any Lyme disease testing? Sometimes when you start knocking out the Lyme the other coinfections can rear their heads.  Babesia, a coinfection, turned out to be a major player in my husband's disease process.
