I am just wondering if anyone had/has liver problems after taking minocycline/doxycycline/tetracycline for a long time(years)?
Hi Hoping,
Anything is possible with any drug taken for a long time and every individual will metabolise drugs uniquely (I know you're concerned about your liver, Hoping), which is why it's recommended to monitor bloodwork regularly for any anomalies (including liver enzymes) and to be liver-conscious while on AP. The tetras are pretty well tolerated and have an amazing safety profile, though, having been around since 1948, if memory serves.
Richie, who freqents here and is a longtime APer (and longtime RBF volunteer!) has been on mino (100mg twice a day) for exactly 10 years now. You can read his updated story here (just scroll to Remission Corner at end of newsletter):

Here is the story of another longtime APer who went to Dr Brown's clinic in the late 80s and has been on AP since:

I also know of other old timers who have been on AP for decades and hopefully they will see your post and let you know how they are doing. 😀
Peace, Maz
