    Hi all,

I just wanted to mention that I came upon an article that stated that not enough calcium in diet leads to thyroid nodules. This was very interesting to me as I have large nodules and have ultrasounds every six months. So far I have had only one biopsy and it was okay, but my doc wants me to remove my thyroid and I keep saying no. She says my nodules are extremely large and smaller ones keep popping up but the others have not gotten any bigger. I decided to up my calcium supplement and I do find I feel better. I hope this info helps.

    Best,

    Karen R

Interesting, Karen.  How much calcium do you take?  Have your nodules shrunk?

I think you're smart to hold off on surgery until you see where things settle out.  Mine is cycling all over the place and I have no clue whether it will sort itself out or just burn out, but I know it's premature to make permanent decisions like surgery.

    Take care…..kim
