Can anyone explain why calcium causes antibiotics not to be absorbed properly. I can't seem to find any web page that explains why. Very curious.

Karen – calcium and minerals such as iron interfere with the drug's absorption. If you go to this page, it gives alot of information on minocycline (brand name minocin). Scroll down to 'interactions' and it will tell you all the interactions the drug has with other things, including calcium and why to avoid it.
