    Hi,
We just got some bloodwork results in (ordered by the AP doc).

    1. ANA – positive. (SEB has had repeated positive results for this, but docs often dismiss this, saying it is common to get a false positive, but here it is again.)
    2. Immunofixation, Urine – No monoclonal proteins detected. (Does anyone know what this means?)
    3. ESR, Westergren – 18 (High) (Ref range is 0-15 mm/hr) (We have seen this mildly elevated – up to 36 over the past 2 years)
    4. Mycoplasma Pneumoniae AB (IGG), EIA – 4.95 (High) (>1.1 = Infection)

We don't review these with the doc until another couple of weeks, just wanted to get an opinion on the Mycoplasma antibody detection. Would we consider this definitive proof of bacteria as the culprit? Does a result of 4.95 compared to a detection limit of >1.1 seem very high? SEB has never actually had pneumonia. Any thoughts or other stories of myco results appreciated.

    Tisch
