If your dentist wrote the rx for it because of your wisdom teeth, you should call them and ask.  Better safe than sorry 🙂

Does anyone know the minimum amount of days I need to take amoxicillin for?

I was prescribed 21 pills. I take 2 a day, one in the morning, 1 in the evening. I will finish them next Thursday (4/8). Do I really need to take them for another week??

    Hi Velouria,

Yes, amoxy is usually prescribed for 10 days and it's important not to skip doses, as resistent strains are a real possibility with penicillins. He's likely given it to you as a prophylactic, to prevent infection. Any kind of dental work can exacerbate RA symptoms and oral pathogens (including oral spirochetes) have been linked to RA. It's best to stay on what your dentist has prescribed so that you don't wind up with a worsening of your RA symptoms. 😉 It shouldn't hurt your overall progress to be off your mino for that period of time and may even help your progress on AP, if there's any possibility you may have elevated strep titers, as well.

Hope your mouth feels better soon after the extractions!

    Peace, Maz
