RA and allergies, advice please

I am taking AP (minocycline and Flagyl, possible lymes) and I was wondering if any of you also take over the counter allergy medicine? Our kids have been asking us for a pet so we decided to get a kitten. Turns out, I’m allergic to her. I have had a runny nose, itchy throat, sneezing, and itchy watery eyes since we got her 3 weeks ago. I know that its her because after about an hour away from home, I’m fine. This has been very confusing for me as I have had two cats in the past and never showed any symptoms whatsoever. I know the obvious solution is to find her a new home but that’s easier said than done as the kids (and my husband and I) are already attached to her. I was wondering if this has ever happened to any of you? What over the counter meds have you tried and have any worked? Any imput is much appreciated!!

Lyme is thought to kick up allergies. Who knows?

I’m on antibiotics and anti-fungals for Lyme, as is my son, and we both take generic claritin, zantac, and presciption singulair.

I sometimes take benedryl at night.

No problems.
