PM not working – RBF admin help needed (Mary P – heads up)

Hi RBF admins,

I am unable to send private messages through the forum. What do I need to do to resolve this issue? I just received a message and really need to answer it.

Hi Michele,

There are two ways to get help for forum tech issues.

Forum users having trouble accessing the forum (e.g. sometimes IP addresses get blocked by the system if they are servers with known heavy spam traffic) or those attempting to register, but unable to post, can send an email to forumadmin@roadback.org and Lynnie will respond there.

Alternatively, if you are able to post on the open forum and having some other difficulty, you can also post in the permanent thread at the top of this forum, labeled, “Post technical issues with new forum here.”

Lynnie should see this post, however, and will respond as soon as she is able. She is our tech-savvy go-to person and whatever she can’t resolve will be passed to the RBF webmaster to help fix.

FYI, a few people have mentioned that they are having PM difficulties recently. I don’t know why this is happening, but if anyone is having this prob, we’d like to know so we can assess the extent of the problem and see what can be done about it. So, please either post here on this thread about this or write an email to forumadmin@roadback.org

Am not sure what is happening with you but will need more details in order to assist. I have checked your permissions and they are all in place for you to be able to send/receive PM’s.

In case it’s this – go to Private Messaging (click on 0 new messages above or access via your User Control Panel- private messaging) go down to ‘rules, folders and settings’ and check the option ‘if inbox is full delete oldest messages).

Otherwise, I’ll need some more detail as to what is happening when you try to reply etc. You might like to email me at: lyn@roadback.org re this. If all else fails, there will be ways I can go into as you and try and see what’s happening.
