Doctors in Ireland have been asked not to prescribe Plaquenil for arthritis to ensure there is a supply for the patients with Coronavirus.
RA tried everything: Methotraxate, Arava, Humira. Pneumonia three times. Anemia. Very low iron. Hypothyroidism
AP from April 2014 till August 2015. No luck.
Current medications: Natural thyroid, Mobic, supplements,
vitamins and minerals.

The whole idea is complicated. You feel bad by not saving more lives because autoimmune sufferers need to be able to stay on their medications, but when you are saving more lives you feel badly that autoimmune sufferers may have to do without for a bit. It has been such a mess for sure. My hope in the US is that ramping up production and receiving from Israel large doses that this problem would cease to be a problem. Right now it is complicated, but it is a sign of hope that more lives could be saved and hospitals less overcrowded because of this drug. Hopefully this is a short term problem for everyone. My heart goes out to everyone affected by this shortage on both sides.

Here they are trying to reserve for their regular patients but only giving out two weeks worth at a time. (At least where we live). It is such a mess for everyone involved.
