    My new Rheumatologist has told me that I cannot take Minocycline whilst on Methotrexate as it may lead to hepatotoxicity – liver damage. It was not the answer I’d expected 🙁

    Diagnosed with RA in 2012
    Fifth Disease in '03
    Lyme? in 2000?
    Had radioactive ablation of hyperactive thyroid in 1997
    autoimmune thrombocytopenia resolved
    Anemia resolved with treatment of RA with Minocycline
    Blood type: B neg

    Meds:
    Minocycline 50mg once a week
    Levothyroxine .88mg
    Liothyronine 5mg
    Methotrexate 20 mg once a week

    Folic acid
    B12
    B6
    Vit D
    Biotin
    Biosil
    Cbd balm
    Flexaril as needed
    Aspirin
    Benedryl
    Ventolin inhaler
    Lactibiane probiotic

    I was on 5 mg MTX for the first year of AP and over the next 2 years I slowly lowered the dose.No problem for me but did have testing done every 3 months

    These DMARDS have no known interactions with minocycline:

    azathioprine (Imuran)
    hydroxychoroquine (Plaquenil)
    sulfasalazine (aka salazopyrin, Azulfidine)

    I’m sure that there are others, but those are probably the most common ones.
