Hello! I have a question regarding lyme and prednisone….I know many have stated that prednisone contraindicates (spelling??) each other….so what does that mean that the prednisone would or wouldnt be effective if I had lyme? I am confused??? 🙂

    Hi Carries,

    Would not.

My AP Doc has me on Hydrocortisone, instead of Prednisone. The LLMD doesn’t like it either one with Lyme treatment.

    Carrie,

Prednisone suppresses the immune system and Lyme disease is an infection. By suppressing the immune system, the body can’t fight the immune system. In a nutshell, this is the reason that LLMDs don’t like prednisone.
