Fascinating that after about 6 decades, researchers studying the human microbiome at the Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC are making a return to the infectious theory perspective that autoimmune diseases, such as, “…rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, scleroderma, the vasculitides, psoriatic arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis,” likely have an infectious cause, even if as yet an unidentified one or ones. This article is very worth reading!

    Hi, Maz,
Thanks for posting this article. It might, indeed, lead the way to vindication for Dr. Brown’s work. Many of us have been fighting so hard to make our doctors believe that infections cause arthritis…and that it isn’t “circumstantial” that we feel better when taking antibiotics! I was once told that “it is purely circumstantial” that I had improved with antibiotics…and that HE was the doctor, I was the patient therefore my observations were not to be taken seriously!!

Maybe one day infection-based chronic illness will be taught in medical school…

Good to see this Maz…reminds me of the clinical trials link I posted on another thread. http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/archive/NCT01198509 But…I have yet to find any results on those trials at last look.
This has been my belief for sometime that oral and intestinal micro organisms are the culprit. This would certainly fit for me. Seems there is an influx of research on this oral/AI link lately. Glad to see it.

Here are a few more links for anyone who is interested.

This one has some hidden gems in the Research Newsletter Archives…..So many studies into oral bacteria and MANY diseases including AI. it is out of Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine

Thanks for Posting this MAZ…..makes me hopeful and fuels my research addiction! :ugeek:
