Hi – I’ve been away for a while… thinking things have been going fairly well. However I guess that was not entirely the case as I am now dealing with a suspicious lump on my right breast. I am having an MRI next week and a follow up appointment with a breast surgeon, I am scared to death of course. On top of it all, After about a year of being lucky enough to not experience muscle weakness, it looks like that is coming on as well. I am waiting for insurance to approve an MRI of my lower extremities. Muscles are extremely tight and just don’t feel right. The weakness isn’t horrible – but it’s definitely there. So – the reason for this post is to ask any of you if you have an input on supplements etc. to possibly help my situation. I don’t have results yet, of course, but can’t help but notice all the praise for LDN and wondering if it would make sense for me to just start it now. Any other input would be welcome. Thanks

    Hi Lindilu

I’ve been using LDN for autoimmune disease since it was prescribed in July 2013 by an AP doc and yes, it improved my rapid SD progression almost overnight. However, my doctor will only prescribe LDN for diagnosed AI disease and he is very knowledgable about LDN. Faced with the sudden and rapidly progressing monster known as Scleroderma and offered no treatment by any physician or specialist to give me hope, I took what I considered a risk taking LDN and it paid off.

Cancer is a different beast. While you may find anecdotal evidence supporting LDN use in cancer on the internet, there is mountains of scientific research supporting mainstream cancer treatments, especially with breast cancer. It’s not quite the ominous diagnosis it was years ago and, honestly, suspicious breast lumps are a dime a dozen these days. Most are harmless cysts.

My aunt has won twice against breast cancer and she has used some alternative supportive measures in addition to the usual treatments. These measures were prescribed or suggested by members of her oncology team.

Chances are good, lindalu, that your suspicious lump is not cancer. Once the test results come in and you’re cleared, you might want to revisit LDN by finding a physician knowledgable about both LDN and AI disease if you’re still interested in exploring that option.

    Keep well. All the best.

Gerson.org is a great source of information for cancer patients willing to think outside the box. Even if you go standard Western Med. for chemo and Rad – like my Mother did during her breast & thyroid cancer, she changed her diet so she was juicing and putting massive amounts of live enzymes (via live vegetables) into her body daily. She never had to stay on the couch or bow out of exercise during cancer therapy, she was always energetic on the Gerson diet and helping her body detox from the western meds. Hopefully your diagnosis isn’t cancer, but if it is there is tons of hope, tons of options, lots you can do for yourself. Wishing you good test results-

thank you both so much for your advice. I am feeling much more positive today than I was last week. Hopefully this will all just be a passing scare. Thank you again for your concern. Best well wishes to you both.
