Minocycline does seem to have some neuro-protective effects post-stroke and was found to prevent further brain damage in stroke victims if administered within hours of the event. Neuro-protection is one of the reasons it also helps MSers. This said, it does seem to have some effects on clotting:
RX List: Minocycline Interactions
Because tetracyclines have been shown to depress plasma prothrombin activity, patients who are on anticoagulant therapy may require downward adjustment of their anticoagulant dosage.
Does your son have a rheumatic disease? Is he currently on a blood thinner? Have you researched systemic enzymes to reduce cloting risk? As you’d already know, though, it’s not wise to use anything else with a prescribed blood thinner that could potentiate it’s effects.
Are you thinking your son has an infectious cause for his DVT?
March 7, 2019 at 5:30 pm #463871Lynne G.SDParticipantHi SS you should do a little research on Nattokinase. In scleroderma we have a problem with Rouleaux which is red blood cell aggregation.Because the cells stick together they clog and then blood pressure puts stress on the capillaries and end up breaking them.As my tiny capillaries broke it felt like bee stings just about everywhere on my body.Today I do not have any Raynaud’s in my hands, feet or nose.Hubby’s hands go numb when he is driving but not anymore. You can find it on Amazon

Thank you everyone for the information.
Yeah Maz my son has DVT which started at the age of 35 and last week ended up as PE as he was not taking blood thinners.(careless young adults)He does not have any other illness.
My son being active and in good health I was wondering if it could be a infectious cause.
I want to find out if any one on the board had the DVT and found the reason for the clot from a hematologists.
If any one has the information it would be helpful.
Thanks

Thank you for the articles and it is interesting to note Nattokinase has antithrombotic effect.
I will send it to my son also and want to research more on it.
Thanks
