The Road Back Foundation Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to us. When you send information to a Road Back address, it is treated as a confidential correspondence between you and The Road Back Foundation. Through our privacy policy, The Road Back Foundation, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt corporation promises the following:
1. The only information we will keep on file or in our database is that which you give us. Be aware, however, that some internet service providers do include additional information in the "headers" etc. when mail is sent. That is dependent upon how your provider/business software configures its email. Regardless, The Road Back Foundation will not use any such information to identify you in any way other than as part of an aggregate user base.
2. When make a contribution online, the following is necessary to process your request: Your full name Your mailing address Your e-mail address (optional) Your credit-card number and billing information Your telephone number
When you fill out our form, you do so on a secure server to the best of our current technology. This means that all information you send to us is encrypted and cannot be accessed by anyone outside of our system. Within our system, this information is kept on computers that are not connected to the Internet, and are not accessible to anyone other than authorized individuals. The form also gives instructions for contributing by the US post.
3. When you fill out our form, your name is added to our member database. Your information is never sold, rented or otherwise provided to advertisers, sponsors or other third parties.
4. The Road Back Foundation does not exploit any other forms of passive client-side information collection, such as the use of client-side "cookies" or client-side session IDs.
5. Security Precautions You Can Take to Safeguard Your Information:
If you are using a computer in a shared environment such as a library or school, and are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, you may wish to make sure that the browser's "Auto Complete" feature is turned off. Netscape users can disable the "Forms Manager". This will help prevent other users from accessing your credit card number or other data entered on the computer. When filling out an order form, make sure it is on a secure server - usually identified by a lock image in your browser's status line, or by a web address that uses the secure hypertext transfer protocol, i.e. the web address is prefixed "https://" in the browsers navigation bar.
