It is such a shame the drug companies have basically made it impossible to obtain the original branded Minocin. Then we could all have a common base line. Several brands stopped working for me in the past. For some years now I have been using Minoz from India. It is a coated extended release tablet. The key to effectiveness is where the minocycline is bio-available in the digestive system. I continue to try and utilize the product supplied from my Cigna Medicare. They have switched brands often and nothing has worked for me that they supplied. They are now shipping Torrent tables. They are not coated and dissolve immediately in water and probably dissolve before clearing the esophagus. A few weeks ago I tried putting the Torrent tablet in an empty capsule. That makes the tablet dissolve further in the digestive process and that has worked for me. I now do one week on the Minoz from India and one week on the encapsulated Torrent tablet and I do equally fine on both. If you remember I have psoriatic arthritis.

I have taken Minoz 100 coated extended release tablet from alldaychemist at arise on an empty stomach daily for years. I am not aware of it causing me stomach issues. I think this product is as good as the pelletized branded Minocin

The last few months I have been using 10mg of Prednesolone. It helps my psoriatic arthritis and back spasms. I suspect I also have adrenal insufficiency, but would have to go off it to do a cortisol lab test. Last week I started 1mg of Dexamethasone and weaned off predesolone. Dexamethasone is 6 times more affective and stays in the system twice as long.

I have been using Minocycline since 2008, at least 100mg a day. I take it when I get up in the morning on an empty stomach. Be sure to drink a full glass of water to be certain the pill clears the esophagus.I use a coated extended release tablet which in theory is easier on the stomach. I use a brand called Minoz from Allday Chemist. Minocycline should not cause stomach problems if your gut is healthy. However most of us with these diseases do not have healthy guts. I use Align probiotic and have done the best on that brand. I helped my stomach issues tremendously by going gluten free for over 2 years to heal my celiacs disease. It is not uncommon for us to have more than one autoimmune disease. my last colonoscopy was clean for the first time in 10 years with no polyps or diviticui pitting.

My name is Vincent also. When I moved to the south I was tagged with Vinny. Powder filled capsules have never worked for me. I think that the capsule dissolve in the stomach and are the least effective and cause the most stomach issues. I have been using Minoz film coated tablets for some years now. These are very effective for me. One website describes them as modified release. I believe that the coating carries them through the stomach to the intestine where they are more effective. I believe that the branded Minocin worked well for anyone who could get it because the peletized capsule made it to the intestines. I have taken the Minoz tablets from India at arise for years and have not had stomach issues with them.

I have been on 100mg per day Minocycline since 2008 and have not had any change in my liver function. I use Minoz orange tablet which work best for me. I think tablets metabolize more slowly with less stress on the liver. Powder filled capsule probably are the worst on the liver.

Generic capsules don’t work for me. Tablets work very well for me. I buy my directly from India from http://www.alldaychemist.com
The price is reasonable and delivery is less than 3 weeks. I think the tablets metabolize more slowly than powder filled capsules.

When my psoriatic arthritis started in 2007 I went to a dermatologist for help. We started on Methotrexate and Prednisone. After doing the research on RBF I asked for a script for Minocycline and he refused to write one because it was “off label” He writes scripts of Minocycline for teens with acne but would not write one for me because he did not understand how it would help and did not care to learn. My primary care internist has been writing my prescriptions since 2008.
