    Hi Diane,
I have been going through that too for 6 months, I was diagnosed with Sjogrens but it did not sit well with me. It had to be more than that, like you said, I use the mouthwash and other products to avoid being awaken at night but nothing works. I still have it but it is 50% better after I figured out I had systemic yeast. After watching what I eat, very low carbs, no sugar, no white flour, it did get better. Supplements like olive leaf and apple cider vinegar were extremely helpful. But I did go off antibiotics for 2 months. I am still off until I kick the yeast. I am petrified to go back on ABX due to yeast. The BEAST got so out of control on an antifungal TWICE a day along with 2 ABX after 3 weeks, I just couldn’t hold food down, so I had no choice but to take a break. It was the worst “herx” going off everything, as the yeast did a sudden die off, I was sick for 6 weeks, couldn’t move off the couch. Slowly after that, I started feeling better, even my joints felt a lot better. I was even retested for lyme. Western blot came back POSITIVE, so now I have no idea what is in store for me. I don’t want to go back on ABX due to that yeast. It is one hell of a scary thingBUT if you get it earlier enough, I am sure it will be a piece of cake. Good luck.

What is the name of his book, The yeast connection? Would you be able to send me that abstract so I can see it?? I appreciate your advice, not too many people know how to handle this disease so thank you! I will stop other supplements and stick to one then alternate, I believe that could work. I still have Nizoral here too, do you think I should start that up again? I hate that drug, it gives me a sore throat. Actually, I always have a sore throat, it is fine in the morning but by end of day it is raw and I am hoarse. I don’t know if that is the yeast. I have been to the site knowthecause, it is extremely informative but again I am afraid to eat that diet, I can’t lose any more weight….

Wow, God Bless You for being so fortunate. Being treated with antibiotics for so many years and not getting a fungal infection is amazing. I got it within months and so did my son. It eats you alive. We both lost a ton of weight, anxiety, depression, more joint pain, mimics lyme symptoms, bloating, constipation, craving for sugar/carbs. Best of luck to you.

Great article, even should it to doc. He glanced at it and seemed to be familiar with it but I think I am on my way with that.
What he did notice was my book: Cure unknown, Inside the lyme epidemic by Pam Weintraub, he made a comment on that as if he knew her.
Anyway, thanks for that, I printed out so I don’t forget like I always do….LOL

I was on Levaquin for 5 months and I seem to be getting bartonella symptoms back. It’s hard to say because I have yeast overgrowth, lyme, and scleroderma so I don’t know what is doing what. I can tell you one thing: I went to doc yesterday and he put me on new regimen of Biaxin and plaquenil with an antifungal for yeast. Anyway, he said biaxin is good for bartonella, autoimmune disorders and lyme. I don’t know too much on symptoms of bart except sore feet which I have and they have been worse the last 2 months. I am so glad he changed my regimen, awaiting IV Rocephin, but if this works, I will cancel IV
Good luck just don’t forget to take a good probiotic while on antibiotics especially levaquin, that’s how I got it. I was on probiotic but it was not strong enough. I received a script for VSL#3 double strength, it is a powder and I put it in yogurt.

I have been using Braggs apple cider vinegar everyday and it worked. Please have her try it. I got it through vitacost.com
but I am sure you can find it at any health food store. I finally got off of Prilosec! Sometimes, I get nausea but that is from another issue I have. Please try it and read reviews on that site too, lots of good info.

The doctor that prescribed the Minocin should deal with the yeast issues. Otherwise, I am sure your Primary would see you for it too. Good luck

Probotics kick immediately but once you have the growth which it sounds like you do, there is no escape. I tried everything.
Diflucan was the only treatment. That is a prescription drug. An LLMD is a lyme literate medical doctor.
I live in the bathroom too and have terrible anxiety from yeast, it does some strange things.

My LLMD told me to buy (supplement) called GHI Opticleanse made from Xyogen or something like that. I think you can get it through Amazon but I buy it through my doctor. It is pretty hard to find and purchase. It does work great, I never had any GI problems except for now. Constipation now due to yeast ….again….on Diflucan while still taking Minocin. I am very anxious to find out how you are doing. Please PM me and let me know how treatment went with yeast.

Sounds like a typical herx reaction to me. I have read most people herx on a monthly basis so you are right on schedule.
I quit smoking a few months after I learned about my illness, it really is easy when you get through the first few days. Smoking slows the healing process of any illness even the common cold.

    Congrats Mino!
I have SD too, diagnosed in June of 2010, then found out I have Lyme and Bartonella. Started treatment with Mino in Sept.
I don’t have SD in the skin, so I don’t know if I am better, but in other ways like trouble swallowing and GI problems have eased. I firmly believe the Lyme disease created my autoimmune diseases. My question to you is: What is Harvard Protocol?

Thanks to you all for all your help and suggestions. I still have bouts of it throughout the day. It seems to hit after I eat or drink. Let me ask you all this, if you have yeast and you eat a doughnut, for example, that is when I break into hives. I don’t know if it is the sugar or what. This morning drank coffee with regular sugar in it and I did not get anything until much later after having cereal, something I eat often as yesterday, I had coffee and got hives almost immediately. Then again, I am on pain meds…..could it be them? I have been on them a long time. I want to know what script you all get for yeast, I know I have that.
Thanks again for everyones support and care.

Perfect timing for this question, I need advice and/or help too. For the last 10 days, I have had hives on and off. I have no idea why. I have tried to eliminate anything and everything to find what the cause is. Dr. S. B. in Rhinebeck, NY, told me to get off everything (I am only on Minocycling twice a day, 100mg each) and this is day 2 and still have it. I never knew we could have it in a herx so maybe that is it because I dropped down on Mino to every other day. My doctor is very smart but he always tells me the same thing: Get off of meds and get in here. It is not so easy when you live 2 hours away. All I can say is that I have cravings for sugar, BAD, that is all I want to eat is sweets. I begged the DR office to give me something for yeast infection but they wouldn’t give me anything so this is my second week in misery. I don’t know what to do. I don’t like being off medication due to fear of the lyme coming back. I had 3 full months of Levaquin for Bart and have had nothing since and I feel that coming back hard and fast. That was over a month ago, he gave me Tindamax to start but I couldn’t handle it, it killed my stomach. I don’t understand why he wouldn’t focus on completing the treatment for Bartonella.
I wanted to ask Lynnie about her yeast issues and the treatment for it. Is this why I am so depressed and crave wierd things?
Someone here just said, tell your dr., it could be dangerous? How can it be dangerous? I feel do ignorant right now.
Does anyone get confused on what is what? Is the pain in my calf from Baronella, lyme, yeast, SD, sjogren or whatever? I am at that point where I don’t know which symptom is under what diagnosis? For example, this craving for sugar, is it the lyme or is it the yeast? I seem to have developed the yeast then shortly after broke out in hives in the buttocks area. I get nauseous suddenly, out of nowhere and it’s so strong, what is that from? What do you take for relief when you don’t know the cause?
I am lost and so depressed.
