    My doctor wants to put me on another antibiotic for an infection around my nail which doesn’t want to heal. I take Minocycline three times a week. Does anyone know which antibiotics are compatible with it. And I wonder if I should take both or go off the minocycline.

    Hi–Any antibiotic in the macrolide family is ok with minocin –such as zithromax –when I get a sore throat etc etc –I am given a z-pack that I take without stopping minocin —

    Also, Augmentin, Amoxicillan, Moxatag, etc.

    Hi–Sorry Eileen but amoxicillin is in the penicillin family and is contraindicated with minocycline —

    Hi–I just looked up augmentin and its also in the penicillin family and contraindicated –unfortunately many doctors are unaware of this and prescribe them –the pharmacist is a much better source for telling you which meds dont mix together –
