Great article and now of course I think I may have parasites. Before I consider the treatment or cleanse like you did, I need to know how do you test for parasites? Have you got any at home tests to recommend? Thanks cysta ๐

PattiHi Patti, and happy new year to you too!
I have not been tested for parasites, but have “cleansed” for parasites and, oh my! ๐ From what I’ve read I’ve come to the conclusion that the tests are pretty unreliable. You also might post on lymenet because so many Lymies deal with parasite problems. When I asked my PCP about being tested he said that no one around here would have a clue………….seriously, what DO the infectious disease doctors do??? My energy level is still low, still anemic, so I’m thinking I need to “go there” again. ๐ณ Here is a list of some labs:

They have a Find a Doctor option on their website. Or if you already have a doctor who is interested in using this lab they can call and open an account. BioHealth has excellent physician consultants to go over difficult lab results. They also have up to the minute protocols for all intestinal parasitic infections.Diagnos-Techs, Inc.

January 12, 2011 at 6:40 pm #354290NonnieParticipantHI All,
I have some experience with this. I started AP in May and started treating for parasites in October. I used a wormwood blend from the health food store. It took about 3-5 days for a really strong herx to start and about a week into the treatment, my stomach cleaned out. (I normally struggle with constipation) My bloating was gone and my tummy was flat again, which made me very happy. My stomach seemed to work great for about 2 weeks, and then slowed again.I treated the following month with Parastroy which caused a very strong herx about 3 days in. However, my flat tummy didn’t stay and I was dealing with bloating and constipation. Not sure if this is due to parasites or yeast. I have a yeast overgrowth issue for sure so that could be it. I am seeing little specks of white things in my poop (sorry for the graphic) people on Lymenet seem to think that this is parasite eggs, but who knows?
I am on Diflucan right now, but as soon as I”m done I will get back on the anit-parasite herbs. I really think they work and Dr. F believes they are somehow killing the same stuff that is causing the SD as well as breaking down biofilms.
I take Milk Thistle as well to help support my liver. I intend to start a few other detox methods as well.
