    Hi,
Does anyone have feedback on mycoplasma testing? I contacted Clongen lab and visited about testing options. The lady I spoke with said that they offer a mycoplasma species test (25 most common) and it detects if your are positive but does not specify which species. She said that we wanted to try and narrow it down, they offer another 6 test for M. pneumonia, hominis, genitalium, fermentans, penetrans, and synoviae. She said that it does really matter, the treatment is the same – tetracycline. She also said that urine or sputum was the best way to test for mycoplasmas. She also recommended that we wait another 2 weeks for testing, then Hubby would be off his antibiotic for 6 weeks and she said that would be better. Any thoughts regarding the testing? Do you recommend certain labs?
