Is Acnamino MR the same as Miocin MR?

Hi everyone,

I oredered some Miocin from the pharmacist, and I’ve had Acnamino MR 100 mg capsules delivered. I called the pharmacist and she said it’s the same thing, but under a different brand name. Does anyone know if this is suitable to use with AP therapy, from your experience?

While brand name (UK) Aknemin MR is made by Almirall Ltd, Acnamino MR 100mg is made by Dexcel-Pharma Ltd (UK).

The difference between the two is likely in the fillers and capsule dyes to which some rheumatics find they are sensitive. Generic versions of brand name medications are allowed to vary in bio-equivalence by up to 20%. In these respects, it’s hard to know in advance if any formulation will help an individual or not until it’s tried, as patient experience shared here is that some brands and generic versions of brand names work well for some and not for others.
