Hi Maz,I know this does not pertain to AP but is interesting just the same

The vaccine, typically used to protect the elderly against the most common cause of bacterial pneumonia, can lower the rate of heart attacks by as much as 50 per cent, says the study, published in the latest issue of the Canadian Medical Association Journal.

    Hi Lynne,

Well it sort of falls into line with what this study says and which has been denied for a long time about heart disease and chlamydia pneumoniae:

Elevated chlamydia pneumoniae Antibodies, Cardiovascular Events, and Azithromycin in Male Survivors of Myocardial Infarction

I think this is very relevant to those of us with rheumatoid disease, in light of the fact that many RD patients have a greater risk for heart disease. When I asked Dr S in GA what he thought the infectious connection might be between my brother's MS and my RA, he responded, without hestitation, “Chlamydia Pneumoniae.” I have no doubt that with its widespread prevalence it is one aspect of the pathogen load that affects many, many people.

For those wanting to learn more about this particular pathogen, see:

Thanks for sharing this very interesting study, Lynne. 😀

    Peace, Maz

Thanks to the vigilance of all of you who reported the links above to this important information.

It may not “take a village” for some things, but finding all the helpful information we can use is certainly enhanced by our wonderful “village” on RBF BB.
