Thought this Live Science article might be interesting to folks here. It’s probably not anything we all didn’t know from personal experience, but may prove validating for some and help to explain seasonal variations in symptoms:

Makes total sense to me. I have far less pain / inflammation living in the tropics. I avoid winter at all costs!

We have someone here living in Florida and suffering as well. I think aircon is not good for us /cooling/heating both/

Yes, black mold can be a nasty toxin in humid environments and made worse by air conditioning.

I use reverse cycle air con / heating for part of the year to keep the house at a steady and comfortable temperature. Because of the potential for mould I remove and clean the air con filters regularly. As a result, I have never experienced a mould problem. It’s necessary to keep humidity out of the house / clothing / bedding / furnishings etc when living in the tropics. I also turn off all air con, open the windows and use the fans to change the air inside the house every 3 days. That works fine to keep the air fresh and clean.

I definitely feel a difference in the summer. It used to be my favorite season. I now dread it.
