friend with lupus

Hello everyone.  I have a friend with lupus and am wondering if AP works well for this disease.  Any input would be appreciated.  Thanks, JoAnn

Yes, I am sure Lupus can be treated with AP. I will let others reply who have more experience than I do . But I saw your post and wanted to reply, while you wait for a more experienced person.. My mother was treated  for Lupus for over 20 years with the traditional meds, then just before she died, a different doctor said she never had Lupus!!!!!!!!!

If I'm not mistaken, Dr. B., in Wynnewood, PA, treated his wife who had lupus with AP.

Yes, lupus does respond to AP and some of the top AP docs are treating it with minocycline. Some lupus patients prefer to use doxycycline fearing the possibility of drug-induced lupus, but my understanding of this condition is that it is an entirely different thing from real lupus and more the way a person's body metabolizes the antibiotic.

Lupus patients do tend to be pretty hypersensitive, so a slowly does it approach to AP is usually the way to go, but also ruling out things like Lyme disease, which have been strongly tied to lupus.
