Lord Astor of Hever’s daughter was struck by Lyme disease and he’s making it his mission to improve the education of British doctors regarding tickborne infections, the lack of adequate diagnostics and treatment for many in the U.K. who are suffering and need help. His remarks about the IDSA/CDC’s outdated guidelines are quite scathing, stating they are “… not fit for purpose.” Sadly, an experienced Lyme Literate rheumatologist and a general practitioner were both harassed for treating Lyme disease several years ago, leading both to leave their practices.
