When we had our last doctor’s visit I asked her how to help flush the toxins from any die-off out of our system. She suggested using Milk Thistle. Of course, I haven’t got around to getting that done yet, so I don’t have any personal experience yet to report.

I may be telling you something that you already know, but I read somewhere that depression is actually a part of the infection. I would suspect if that is so maybe the infection affects different hormone producing organs or perhaps blocks the transmission of hormones that would affect our sense of well-being. (Disclaimer: At this point, I know just enough to be dangerous. 😆 ) Ride the wave and hopefully you’ll feel better.

This is the 3rd week and both of us seem to be doing well. No die-off symptoms and our energy seems to be picking up some (albeit it is little). We are pouring in the kefir, started kombucha, and are back to working on the fermented veggies. Note of interest: both of our tongues are losing the scalloped edge and I’m finally starting to see a little of the moons on my index and middle fingers. I’m taking this as a good sign.

Someone had asked if my husband had his RF tested. Yes. Both of us tested and we were both negative.

I take 50 mg a day for iron because I’m anemic. It seems like I’ve always been anemic.

We got the prescriptions that the doctor ordered for the Q Fever. I didn’t realize at first that one of them was a generic for Plaquenil. After all I’ve read about it lately, that scared me a bit. I asked him if maybe he ought to get retested before jumping into the treatment for Q Fever. He thought that sounded like a good idea, so he will see if the doctor will run the tests again. Then, of course, if it comes back negative which tests do we believe. 😕

I messed up and took a doxycycline on Saturday instead of starting it on Monday. 🙄 Can I contribute that to brain fog? We went ahead and took one on Monday and the next one will be due on Friday.

Yesterday, wasn’t so hot. Nothing in particular other than feeling blue. Today was a decent day. Husband seems to have more energy and his back is tolerable.

Someone told us to journal the journey. She said she keeps a calendar and marks red for a bad day, yellow for a tolerable day, and green for a good day. She said this really helped especially when she figured out she had Lyme’s Disease and figured out it cycles every 28 days. This was a yellow day with a hint of green. 🙂

Husband’s back is tolerable and he actually feels decent. He was very productive today unlike myself who was in a coma the latter part of the day. 🙂 How can one person sleep so much and still want/need to sleep more? The metallic taste from the Clindomycin is gone for both of us. Thank goodness. I am trying to not move too much because I am so stiff. It’s not awful. I don’t feel bad other than needing to sleep and the stiffness. I have definitely felt worse than this.

    Lynnie,

Thank you. I finished Henry Scammell’s book and plan on diving into other material in the coming week. This week has been quite a roller coaster with both myself and my husband on the IV protocol, our 7 year old (who never gets sick) ran a fever for 4 days, and taking my father-in-law to his doctor’s appointment. I thinking I’m running on fumes, but I think most people on this forum are used to living this way. Pressing onward.

Terribly exhausted, extreme muscle weakness, and very stiff. Husband’s back is, in his words, “the worst it has ever been.” These are the symptoms we both struggle with most, so we are not sure what is going on. Time will give us a clearer picture. Looking forward to next year. 😆

We both have tested positive for mycoplasm, so all of his symptoms seem to have stemmed from that because we have had this for 20 or 30 years. I would suspect the Q fever is only a couple of years old. So to answer your question, no I don’t think he ever had any symptoms.

My husband just recently tested positive for Q fever. I talked to a friend in Montana who is very knowledgeable concerning raw milk and asked her what her take was. (We drink raw milk.) She said in all of the literature she has read, not one has mentioned any case of raw milk contamination in the US. She said it did happen in other countries. She also said that Q fever was found in Montana and was related to ticks. (We lived in Montana 3 or 4 blocks from the lab that tests among other things Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever.) She said it is really easy to contract. She said even breathing the dust off the hay of an infected animal would do it. (He also worked for a short time for a lab that did lab testing on animals.) She also said he might get retested. She said they had a couple in their church that was working on an adoption and the husband tested positive for a disease and then was retested a 2nd and 3rd time and those came out negative.

My husband and I just started IV protocol. On my second day I spoke to a woman that has been battling the same thing (mycoplasm infection). She made the remark that around 1987 she had contracted hepatitis and mono.

Day 1 and 2 were unremarkable. Both Husband and I took Clindomycin 300 mg IV. Day 3 and 4 will be Clindomycin 600 mg IV. Day 5 Clindomycin 900 mg.

I’m very new to the forum, but I do have a bit of advice. At certain times I have been greatly affected by nightshade plants (potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, and eggplant). I would be mindful of how you react if your diet includes any of those. The things that have helped my husband and me the most is avoidance of any preservatives, HFCS, and especially MSG. It is difficult to change your whole diet when you don’t have the energy to think about it, but you can, if need be, do it gradually. Things that have helped me are juicing, especially with beets and lemon, make sure you temper it with apples and carrots if you want it palatable 😆 . If you choose to juice I suggest you do enough for the whole day and stick it in the fridge for later. That way you are conserving that precious energy as much as possible. Good luck.
