Richie, What a joy when antibiotics for arthritis and Crohn’s is “mainstream!”
Here are a couple more links:

They are recruiting MS patients in Israel for the following clinical trial:

More good news.it looks like just taking an ACE inhibitor for a long time lowers Altzheimer’s by 65%.I was buzy when it came on the news the other night so I only got the tail end where researchers were saying that not one EXPENSIVE med helps and that for pennies a day they sre pretty sure that an ACE will do the trick. This talk was in conjunction with the news that they think they have found a test that everyone should have because Altz starts decades before it is chronic. If test shows positive they want people to get on it right away. They were saying how people who have been on an ACE for years and years have a very low incidence of Altz.Just getting blood flow to the brain is crucialMarch 21, 2014 at 12:20 am #371437Woods1977ParticipantI agree with one of the previous posts- I’m suprised it’s not generating more buzz… but regardless, I’ll be very interested to see how this pans out in the future. An infectious agent to RA and other auto-immune illness… Hmmm imagine that.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

This is work being done in Montreal but I expected it would have made the news in other places.Any info I can dig up will be in FrenchMarch 25, 2014 at 12:50 am #371440AnonymousParticipantThe company RedHill Biopharma Ltd has made one pill, a combination of intracellular, antymycobacterial and anti-inflamatory antibiotics. The same combination RHB-104 is going to treat Crohn’s disease and RA.

I knew that the Universite de Montreal was working with some American and Dutch researchers and VOILA!!! I found the info in English that was just released

Linda L.RHB-104 (Myconda) , was originally developed by an Australian company for Crohns. Redhill Biopharma has since bought the drug. Its now in trials for not only Crohns and RA, but also for Lupus and MS. This would back up the findings of the now retired microbiologist Dr Wheldon , who has successfully treated and perhaps cured his wife of multiple sclerosis. He believes an infection with chlamydophila pneumonia is behind MS and prescribes for his wife a combination of antibiotics.

Thanks for the link.
AFEDIT:
PS Lynne G., I just looked over the above link’s health news research into clearing beta amyloid from the brain. It looks like there will not be anything decisive on this for some time.It came to mind that so many of us who develop chronic illnesses, did not have an adequate understanding of the “why’s and how-to’s” of keeping the body well-nourished to keep the digestive system from failing. Even when we learn about AP and Dr. Brown’s work, we may not have adequate emphasis on “digestion of nutrients and keeping the gut lining healthy” when we talk about the “right diet” for ourselves.
Just in case some reading this link have not read/studied these important things we need to know to help our “majestic” bodies recover, they deserve that we should help our bodies by becoming more knowledgeable — or reviewing what we learned some time ago. I put together a few minutes ago in my Word file some links, saving these links so I could find this information more easily for further study. Hope it will be of help to you, too.
The links below can help us help our minds and bodies NOW. We have a need to understand the important relationships between nutrition, absorption of nutrients from food, restoration of our ability to digest food properly

FDA Trial Stages:

More in-depth description of the process:
http://www.fda.gov/drugs/resourcesforyou/consumers/ucm143534.htm
Article describing odds of getting a new drug to market are 5 in 5000 and may take up to 12 years to get through product testing and trial phases:
http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=9877
In the case of old abx, this process is likely to be a lot less rigorous as older drugs can receive FDA approval for off-label uses. This was the case with minocycline for RA.
Whether the trial process is 100% legit or not is a question for debate – for now, the system is “the best we’ve got,” but clearly needs more checks and balances. In it’s October issue, The Economist made a pretty shocking report on drugs used in cancer treatments today that are considered gold standards, but which later independent studies were unable to replicate!
“Last year researchers at one biotech firm, Amgen, found they could reproduce just six of 53
May 28, 2014 at 5:23 am #371446lemonsParticipantI noticed that RHB-104 is mentioned now on several mainstream arthritis websites. I also saw a post regarding Crohns and AP, so I thought I would bring this thread up again. I have read that Myconda the original name of the drug, has already been used for a while to treat Crohns .
May 29, 2014 at 4:55 pm #371447Jan Lucinda1ParticipantRedHill Biopharma is in Tel-Aviv, Israel. I’m glad there are researchers continuing to do research to treat RA.
