The basic gist of this is that large companies like comcast, verizon, etc, can’t charge more for specific data that goes through their systems. They can’t charge Netflix more because it uses more bandwidth and in turn making Netflix pass that cost onto consumers.
They also cannot “throttle” bandwidth or develop “tiered” plans.
They cannot decide what content is allowed on their lines. Huge freedom of speech issue.
The FCC is designating internet as a “public utility”.
Net Neutrality ensures that ALL internet information is “neutral” and can’t be prioritized or monetized.
Either way, the large ISPs are going to sue and bring this to the Supreme Court, where they will most likely lose.
