    Hi,

The cause of chicken pox is varicella?zoster virus (VZV). VZV can cause arthritis.

    See:
An unusual case of adult varicella?associated arthritis
Varicella arthritis diagnosed by polymerase chain reaction.

If you show this information to your doctor, perhaps you could convince him or her to let you try an antiviral medication to see if it helps.

That’s good. Are you also taking vitamin C?

Also I would need to stay on it for life would I if it works

I am not sure anyone can say for certain if you would need to stay on on an antiviral medication for life (assuming it works).

Have you tried, or considered trying, low-dose naltrexone (LDN)?
