Hi Cantara
There has been a lot of discussion on this – some of it as recently as this week. If you use the search box at the top of front page of General Discussion (where all topics are listed) and type in ‘generic mino’ or similar, you can look through a great number of posts on this topic.Be well! Lynnie

I live in Ontario and have SD.With APO my disease started to come back.My pharmacy was able to order Teva generic and it works just fine.Since you are just starting and have RA you need much less effective ingredient than me so try starting at 100mg monday wednesday and friday to start. Most RAers start at 50 mg but since this stuff is so weak try 100 and see what happensMarch 17, 2014 at 11:43 am #371606CangirlParticipantI too live in Ontario. I have RA and have been on the APO brand for almost a year now. I too heard that it is a weaker generic and started out with 50mg MWF and experienced herxing with that dosage. I currently take 200mg MWF and am having great results. Remember everyone is different and the process is slow. It may work for you but you must give it time. It took several months before I started to notice little improvements. I still continue to improve and feel that I have my life back!
All the Best!March 17, 2014 at 12:37 pm #371607DianaW13ParticipantHi Cantara,
Just wanted to extend a warm welcome to you. I live in Ontario. When I began AP (just over 2 years ago) the brand name Minocin was still available and I took 100mg with great results for about 1 year. Unfortunately, they stopped production of that brand here, hence I went onto Apo Minocycline. It is not as strong as the Minocin, and after about a week or two, I found that I was not responding as well, but, after bumping it up to 100mg bid I have been just fine.
Hope this helps. Please keep us posted as to how you are responding.
