Hi. I have been on Mino for almost 4 months. The pulling and tightening scleroderma symptoms I was having subsided but I am in a full Lupas flare. Burning, joint pain, fatigue, body aches and inflammation. I have had a positive Lupas marker prior to AP but never a flare like this. I am wondering if Mino is causing my Lupas to flare, and if so, does this mean this is not a good drug for me? I have had a reaction to Mino since day 1. Finally worked through a lot of those issues and changed Mino brands at 2 months and went into a full lupas flare. I’m really hurting right now. Another concern is my inability to do the antibiotic daily. I tried, no way is that going to happen. The doc in Texas thinks I need to be on it everyday. Wondering if some of the experienced APers have a combo they liked. Thanks for any input.

    Hi Stacy,

Since you are having difficulty tolerating minocycline, you have nothing to lose by trying it.

    Hi Stacy,

I want to add that I am surprised that none of your doctors has prescribed azithromycin for you. Since doxy is not working for your scleroderma symptoms, and mino is causing problems, putting you on a macrolide like azithromycin seems like such an obvious choice.
