I am currently being treated for lyme and am on 4 difft abx. Pain control is good with the exception of my neck area which seems to be hanging in there. Anyone else have this and what have you tried to relieve the pain. Any posts are appreciated!

How long have you been on AP? Did you start all 4 at once?
    Are you doing any detox?
I keep getting neck pain (not as horrendous as in the beginning) and a series of massage and detox, usually not just oral supps, but the combination of oral + baths/foot soaks help. If not enough, coffee enema always helps. Sometimes has to be repeated the next day.
After a year of AP my veins in the neck got greatly constricted (I was off AP for 4 months when it happened) and TCM acupuncture and herbs and additionally systemic enzymes (I even took additional bromelain) helped with that and then then with big circulation problems that resulted from releasing all the plague debris into the bloodstream.
I used professional massage when at the biggest neck pain, but you can start doing it yourself lots of times a day, too!
Combining detox and massage should help.

If not, maybe you’ll have to change your diet to no gluten, no allergenic for you foods.
The most common allergies, especially in people with chronic diseases, are gluten, dairy, eggs, nightshades, then citrus, sometimes certain nuts. But it can be something as innocent as apples, especially inorganic that are sprayed with food dyes. For that particular allergy, if organic is too expensive, avoiding big chain stores may help with getting unsprayed fruit. I had them once checked at Whole Foods (the customer service called the supplier) and their inorganic apples were not sprayed with dyes and I had no reaction. Trader Joe’s customer service lied: said they were not sprayed, but I had a horrendous reaction that I only get to food dyes. Small Fruit Markets usually sell unsprayed apples, but I would not bet about their other fruit. I’m too afraid to eat soft inorganic fruit: I usually get all kinds of reactions, including the neck pain.
Hope any of the above helps,
    Krys

Thanks for the reply. Yes I am on 4 abx and have added them slowly over the past 4 months. The neck pain/tingling is lingering. I am doing FAR infared sauna daily and just started doing coffee enemas yesterday. I plan on this routine daily. I juice in the morning, take a ton of supplements, chlorella and also do edible clay and diatomaceous earth at night before bed. I am also on high probiotics as well. I do agree that detox is best to get the circulating toxins out. Just ordered some Willard Water as well as it is supposed to help the body detox and is overall good for you.

    Hi Lar,
Very impressive and thorough program. But it sounds scarily intense if you do all of that daily.
Are you doing ALL that at the same time, i.e. every day?
How long have you been on this detox?

I hesitate to voice any opinion regarding your detox protocol because I’m not a specialist on anything, only have done all kinds of detox myself. I never did more than 2-3 types of detox during the same day.
If you do all of what you mentioned daily, it may be too much?
I’m just afraid that that such intense detox may be too much of a strain on the body that may already have problems with coping. As I don’t know how your body is reacting, I would suggest that you write your LLMD a note, specify everything you are doing (and how often) and ask for his opinion. His experience and his knowledge of you will help and at least you will know if you may be over-straining your system and maybe overwhelming it. Or if it is just perfect! 😀

My very inexpert opinion is that possibly it still needs some time. Neck pain may take a few months to go away and if you have just started the detox, it should improve any time soon. While on AP, my neck pain went completely away with detox after about 2-3 months (it keeps coming back when there’s more need for detox), but other issues (tendons, muscles and organs) soon started and I needed to detoxify on a regular basis.
You may have depleted magnesium and other minerals too much through the detox. Depleted magnesium or even calcium can cause the neck pain, too (the second is more rare than magnesium deficiency, which is very common, especially in chronic diseases). Check the threads on FIR sauna, it is mentioned in a few threads what kind of supplements to take after the sauna (I believe it is Tri-salts?). Are you taking Chlorella away from the food?
If you wrote the whole program down here, noting the time away from food and supplements, maybe somebody will spot something that could be improved? It will also help others see how it can be done when one sets his/her mind to do everything to get well fast!
    How is your diet?
Unfortunately, as if being sick was not enough, most chronic patients do have to implement diet to help how they feel. Removing all food allergens often brings very dramatic improvement.
Massage can have a very dramatic effect on improving pain, stiffness, soreness, circulation, help with detoxifying the tissues. It is better if it is a gentler form of massage. Intense one may release too many toxins into the blood stream. But then, detoxification will help! 🙂
Many people take some anti-inflammatories, either NSAIDs or herbal ones.
Niacin (not Niacinamide) may be helpful for narrowed veins and restricted circulation as the root of neck pain. The usually sold dosage is too big (500mg or 250mg): it may produce a few hours intense flush that will make you start considering going to ER! It will pass, but the dosage given at http://www.doctoryourself.com is (I think) 20 mg. It is very helpful with circulation and neck pain due to narrowed veins.
If the cause of persistent neck pain is severe vein stenosis, check the Forum for Maz’z explanation of how it done to help MS patients.
Adding systemic enzymes (check them, too) should be helpful with fibrin, reducing the inflammation and restoring good blood flow. As you already take so much, if you decide to try Systemic enzymes, maybe replace one detoxification measure with this one, instead of just adding it?
I read somewhere that rubbing bee venom cream, tiger balm, viper venom cream on the neck not only will help with the pain, but also will relax and dilate the veins and thus improve the circulation. Please check it out first /Google it! I used it to see if it would work and it did for me.

The below is my detox experience. Most often I had to give up on intense use because my body made sure to let me know I should stop!
1.The only steady daily are oral supps (NAC, Silimarin, ALA, CoQ10) + to which I added:

2a. Detox Complex by Complementary Prescriptions for about 5 months. Regretfully had to stop as rice content was causing finger swelling, which was happening right after taking the mixture. I did not see any dramatic help, but I did like the taste and it was a very rounded out mineral supplement.
2b. I exchanged that for Pekana Detoxification & Drainage Kit 3x daily for about further 2 months. I liked it but did not see any dramatic change.

3a. Systemic enzymes 3x a day for 2-3 months (my body threw up allergic reactions at me after a while). Very helpful.
3b. Cholestyramine 3 x a day for about 1,5 months. Very helpful. Again my body protested as it did not have enough bile to bind and the adrenals and kidneys did a major protest, so I stopped.
3c. Chlorella 20 x 450-500 mg self made capsules 2x a day. Very helpful. I usually cannot take it longer than 1-2 weeks. If longer, I start getting very nauseous and my gut develops sharp pain.

Occasionally I do Epsom Salts /Baking soda or Peroxide bath or foot soak with those ingredients. Helpful.

Coffee enema once in a long while when I feel very toxic. VERY helpful. It’s too harsh on my body to do too often and I got a huge spike in blood pressure that took a few days to calm down. The logical explanation for BP spike is that I used too high temperature, slightly above body temp. (I’m writing that as a caution for others). I have very fragile mucous membranes all throughout my body and coffee enema is very drying and harsh on the mucous membranes. When the toxicity is huge, it would be worthwhile to do it daily and help the body mucous membranes by doing a small Implant nurturing enema right afterwards. So there is a solution, I’m just too lazy to use it. Most people choose to use it 2 x a week.
I researched and enthusiastically bought all the clays, but used them only a few times.
The toxin binders that I steadily use (not really regularly, only when I need to, only for 1-2 weeks): Cholysteramine, Chlorella, Apple pectin, Slippery Elm, Charcoal, Psyllium, Marshmellow, Triphala. I used clay only a few times. –all helpful.

I always use detoxification mudras while doing detoxifying foot soaks, keep my spine as erect as possible (to align the channels and make the process more effective) + I use various visualizations to further deepen the process.

If you find anything useful in my post, I’m happy. If not, don’t get swayed by my opinions and reactions and do what you are doing. Your AP is intense and the need to detox is intense, too. Each of us is different and our bodies react differently. I’m very impressed that you thought out a program that is so varied and employs such great measures. Congratulations!!!
Warm wishes and hope you feel great soon,
    Krys

Thank you for the informative reply I do so appreciate it! My neck has just started to feel a little better and I do hope that this will continue. I am doing FAR almost daily along with coffee enemas . I do take alot of supplements and minerals sometimes drinking pure coconut water while in sauna. Before bed I always do the clay/DE mixture to help mop up the toxins while I sleep so they can be eliminated upon rising. There is a very interesting site about a girl who followed the Perry Fields protocol to get rid of her lyme in 6 months. You can read more about it here: http://www.ladderbridges.com. She also did coffee enemas daily, IV Vit C and an all holistic route as she did not want to do any more abx. Let me know your thoughts on it if you get a chance to read it. Talk soon…

    Hi Lar,
Sorry for long delay in replying. I was very busy mid Sept., lost a reply and then forgot about it.
But the truth also is I don’t know how to reply….I freak out when so much detox is taken all at once, and daily, too. Each person is individual and maybe you are very young and have a very strong constitution? I think I would be dead if I did things that intensely. When the body is weakened and cannot cope, anything can overtax it, including VERY intense detox. Best of luck to you and may you see only amazing results!!!

I tried to decipher the protocol you supplied a link to. My brain cannot process all the abbreviations, I would have to re-write it substituting abbreviations for what they stand for. I don’t feel I want to devote that much time to it.
But on the whole I am disappointed that she may mislead people into believing that detox on its own is enough to treat Lyme and co-infections. Maybe in some cases it is? Maybe in somebody with a very strong constitution when the toxins are removed and the detox is being continued, the immune system will jump in and mop the invaders out? Personally, I highly doubt it, at the same time hoping it will work for all those who trust the implication within the blog that it is enough.
She herself WAS on abx, just did not see it fit to state how long she took them, which ones, what dosages and whether she did any detox while on abx. I’m also curious whether she had additionally supported her AP, while on it, with any other measures, any Vit. C, minerals, supplements, vitamins, dietary changes. If she had supplied all the information, the plan would have so much more value!!!
Without the complete information, the program sounds like advertisement for a method that may harm people sick with Lyme (by delaying treatment that would work and giving them a false sense of security). Can she prove that if she had NOT taken abx, she would still have recovered on her holistic protocol? It is really not worth discussion. If somebody supplies only half of the information and insists this particular half is ALL that matters, I suspect some vested interest or something else not worth my time to investigate.

Lar, I’m very happy you are doing better!!!
    Warm wishes, Krys
