This article by the Business Insider, Science section, is very worth reading to understand why it can be so hard to get diagnosed with Lyme disease, the enormous costs to both insurance companies and to patients in terms of treatment, the controversy over testing, how widespread the problem has become, the issue of post-Lyme disease syndrome versus chronic Lyme disease, problems in developing a vaccine, etc.

Perhaps now that the cost of the tsunami that is Lyme has been estimated in $ signs, there will be some accountability for what is really going on?
