“Treatment with minocycline led to significant, though limited, improvements in children with fragile X syndrome, a randomized study found.”

Good to see a study in peds, to learn more about adverse events of mino:

“Adverse events occurred in 81.8% of the children, with most being gastrointestinal and mild.

Five showed tooth discoloration, but the study was too short for the full effects of this adverse outcome to be assessed, the researchers noted.

The only serious adverse event was a seizure, which turned out to be during the placebo phase.

Immune system effects such as autoimmune hepatitis and lupus-like syndrome, previously reported in association with minocycline, were not seen in this trial.”

Mom of teen daughter with Poly JIA since age 2. Current med: azithromycin 250 mg MWF.
